Senior Tekla Structural Steel Detailer

Responsibilities:

  • Performs job responsibilities while fully and effectively participating in all relevant company programs, policies, procedures, and initiatives;

  • Work closely with other Senior Detailers and Checkers on all aspects of a project.

  • Identifies and reports any contract discrepancies and problems found to the appropriate superior;

  • Models all facets of moderately complex structures and input standard and generic types of connection;

  • Produces clear, accurate and well laid out erection drawings;

  • Identifies and challenges connection design anomalies and inconsistencies;

  • Edits all types of assemblies;

  • Able to run and issue model generated reports and camdata.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years' Experience in the use of Tekla Structures is required;

  • A post-secondary diploma from a structural engineering drafting and technology course or an equivalent is preferred and a willingness to study further;

  • Minimum of 7 years’ experience in the Structural Steel Construction Industry.

  • A excellent understanding of technical structural drafting terminology is required;

  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of fabrication and assembly processes;

  • Have a excellent understanding of welding symbols and procedures;

  • Must be proficient in the use of a computer and ‘Office’ software;

  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced, dynamic team environment;

Job Details

  • Core working hours are Monday to Thursday between 8:00am – 5:30pm, and every other Friday 8:00am to 4:30pm.

  • Permanent, full-time position with benefits and RRSP Contribution

  • Fast-paced environment

  • On-site position

  • Identifies connection design anomalies and inconsistencies;

  • Edits all types of assemblies;

Tekla Document Controller

Responsibilities:

  • Performs job responsibilities while fully and effectively participating in all relevant company programs, policies, procedures, and initiatives;

  • Record, Maintain, Circulate and Monitor all drawings/documents received from the clients, engineering office or vendors

  • Stamp, log and check-in all drawings, specification and documentation as required by the project

  • Maintains the accuracy and functionality of the document control system

  • Sets up all relevant document control project files

  • Strong multi-tasking skills with the ability to prioritize and organize multiple concurrent assignments.

  • Compiling Operating and Quality Control Manuals

  • Prepare/Assist with turnover packages/transmittals of drawings/documents for submission to the client/sub-contractor

  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • High school Diploma

  • Information & records management certificate or similar education

  • 3-5 years previous Document Control experience

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; and strong ability in Excel will be required

  • Proficient in Bluebeam

  • Experience with Tekla Software preferred

  • Excellent communication and comprehension skills, both technical and interpersonal

  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to multi-task, prioritize and organize multiple active projects while being deadline oriented with minimum supervision

  • Ability to identify system and organizational problems, determine possible solutions, and communicate these ideas effectively.

  • Experience in the Structural Steel Construction Industry.
